The business recently signed a Mentor Protégé agreement with Certified Technical Experts (CTE), which has an office in Huntsville. Established in the early '90s, the Mentor Protégé initiative helps small businesses boost their participation in prime and subcontract awards by creating long-term relationships with larger companies.

The program allows protégés like CTE to work with mentors under individual, project-based agreements. Huntsville-based Tec-Masters will advise CTE in the areas of technology transfer, business development, and other systems and processes during the contract period.

"We are excited to partner with CTE through the Mentor Protégé Program to share technology and business processes to further provide exceptional products and services to the government through another dynamic, successful small business," said Tec-Masters President and CEO Marvin P. Carroll.

Alabama State University, a Historically Black College and University, will work with 27-year-old Tec-Masters to assist CTE.

Tec-Masters and PROJECTXYZ were one of four local Mentor-Protégé teams to win the prestigious Nunn Perry Award, named after former Sen. Sam Nunn and Secretary of Defense William Perry. PROJECTXYZ and Tec-Masters concluded their partnership in January.

Tec-Masters is also involved in a three-year Mentor-Protégé agreement with local woman-owned small business Paragon Research Corporation.
